When I try attaching a PDF to a view I get a blank page and the following error;
Fatal error: Cannot use assign-op operators with overloaded objects nor string offsets in C:\www\toolkit\sites\all\themes\adaptivetheme\at_core\inc\preprocess.inc on line 874

When I change the theme because I was suspecting that's the cause of the trouble I get a blank screen saying 'Unexpected error"

When I attach the pdf to the master display,the page then loads but the pdf icon is missing.
Anybody knows how to deal with that? Thanks

try including this module http://drupal.org/project/pdf

give it a try.. Hope it helps.. I dont know if it can be used by views...

That particular module has limitations that I was trying to avoid. Might have to consider an alternative reporting tool to do the pdfs for me.
