Hi

Just after installation I set the site in offline mode and was donig some admin work. Then I logged out of admin login and now I can't login back. I get site offline message.

How do I login or bring site online now??

http://www.example.com/?q=user/login should bring you to the login page.

Nope!!!

even above URL is not working :(. My site is www.ssvpsonline.com

It says forbidden. How can I get past the forbidden page and log onto my site?

I followed the upgrade instructions (yeah...mostly), but I slipped past the part about logging in as user ID 1 first (admin for me).

I appended /update.php to the address, and it said "you can't do this unless you are the administrator, blah blah...".

So I logged out.

Then I got the nifty and pretty, "We're sorry...the site is offline..." message when I went to the main URL...GAH!

I was stumped until I found your simple and awesome little post here! Thanks a ton...people like you restore my faith in the community daily...

I'm still new to Drupal, but I'm learning. :D

My knee-jerk reaction was to log in to MySql and find the 'offline site' setting and reverse the switch. The smarter half of me instead tried Googling first. hehe

Keep up the good work. I know it seemed trivial to you, but it was a life-saver to me. Who knows what other bugs I'd have caused monkeying around in the database.

Back to the upgrade fight for me!

i am a newbie to drupal

its showing site is down for maintenance.
