Hi,
I am starting a new website business in the Recruitment area and I am a complete novice to the “website world”, so my apologies for my ignorance and terminology used.
I have followed advise to use Drupal as my CMS and I am quite proud of the fact I have installed it and it is now in “MAINTENANCE MODE” while I get a deeper understanding of what I can do myself with available functions etc. My aim is to establish what “gaps” need to be filled ie functions which require customised changes, then go out and get a Drupal expert to complete the Website.
In order to optimise the available Drupal functionality I have also been told to install “Recruiter” distro. I have been unable to complete this task so I am stuck until I get some advise.
Can I still install the distribution “Recruiter” if I already have Drupal installed?
There appears to be a number of versions of Drupal Recruiter, with various features included, is this correct, if so which version provides optimal functionality. I assume I can turn on and off functions as I review what is required.
Does the “Recruiter” distro install via INSTALL MODULE on the modules page?
Do I need to load the individual “Recruiter” modules via INSTALL MODULE on the modules page?
Is there a simple way of installing the “Recruiter”. I had assumed I could load the recommended version onto my PC in a folder and browse to the file via INSTALL MODULE.
Note I have a Winzip file installed also which I believe caused me to inadvertently load software I didn’t want (off subject), sorry.
I also read the Recuriter Drupal Distribution instructions which says I have to ensure “recruiter download is placed in the webroot and configure your webserver accordingly”.
Can someone tell me, in laymans terms, how I go about ensuring above.
Instructions also refer to the selection of the “Recruiter” installation profile and following Drupal INSTALL instructions in the webroot sub-folder. Can someone clarify this for me.

hi,

in order to use Recruiter properly, you will need fundamental Drupal skills and know how to work with distributions
http://drupal.org/documentation/build/distributions

you might want learn from the materials publicly available on Drupal.org or just hire a Drupal professional to get you up to speed with the technology.

Thanks dasjo,
I have posted my project on freelance and I am currently getting bids.
I have requested the skill be developer skill be Drupal and advised that mt site platform is "Recruiter" but I am concerned that not many of the responses have actual experience in the area. They have great reference sites but how do I tell if the site is a Drupal site?
Does it matter. Is the Drupal "Recruiter" just some other skill they pick up as they develope. Thanks SJL

@sjleatham
You can use Wappalyzer web browser extension or http://isthissitebuiltwithdrupal.com/ to check if the site is built in Drupal.
Good Drupal developer don't need to know Recruiter distribution specifically.
For development they need to have Drupal experience with at least Views, Features, Search API, Solr, Facet API, etc.
On Freelaner you won't find much experts in that area, try: Paid Drupal services instead (or post the link there and here).

Basically you can't. Eventually you can copy all the modules from recruiter_features and enable these which you need.

There appears to be a number of versions of Drupal Recruiter, with various features included, is this correct, if so which version provides optimal functionality. I assume I can turn on and off functions as I review what is required.

There is one Recruiter version for Drupal 7.x. After installation in the module list you can enable or disable features which you need.

Does the “Recruiter” distro install via INSTALL MODULE on the modules page?

No.

Do I need to load the individual “Recruiter” modules via INSTALL MODULE on the modules page?

You can't, as it's not the module, but distribution.

I also read the Recuriter Drupal Distribution instructions which says I have to ensure “recruiter download is placed in the webroot and configure your webserver accordingly”.
