Support for Drupal 7 is ending on 5 January 2025—it’s time to migrate to Drupal 10! Learn about the many benefits of Drupal 10 and find migration tools in our resource center.
Once other issues in edit have been addressed we can implement this part of the design which is less obtrusive and keeps the user in context.
This is part of the design which has already been prototyped and tested.

Wim LeersI have no idea what this means. Can you clarify?

Wim Leers#2: I see. Can you remind me/show me how to get those validation errors to show up inside the entity toolbar? The prototype lives at http://www.acquians.info/Public/Edit/spark/blocks/index.html.

See video.

Wim LeersHow is that "validation"? That's merely stating the number of fields that will be saved once you hit the "Save" button. I don't see at all how that deals with potentially lengthy (and numerous) validation error messages?

Right. I have designs for those cases. I will get them and add here.

Wim LeersWe now have designs for this: http://invis.io/QBH9N85K.
We're not yet taking this on, it seems it needs more refinement.

mgiffordReally not sure what this was postponed on. Generally things that need more refinement are active. Unless there's another issue that this is waiting on.
It's been over a year though, worth pushing it to 8.1?
Wim LeersYes.
Wim LeersThis is basically an improved UX for Quick Edit.
mgiffordThink all 8.1 are to be tagged postponed for now.
Wim LeersYou're right — thanks!

SpokjeDue to Quickedit being moved out of Drupal Core and into a Contrib Module, moving this issue to the Contrib Module queue.
