Double Posts in Forum Topics

I recently upgraded from drupal 6 to drupal 7 using the migrate_d2d module. All of the old topics display fine but new topics are being displayed double. The strange thing is if I go into into the view in the standard view they are only listed once but as soon as I enter an argument say 2913 for the "general discussions" forum then the topics posted since the upgrade show double. When I uninstalled Advanced forum, Drupal core forum only shows the topics once. I've tried uninstalling Advanced forum and purging the cache with drush and re-installing but it didn't help. I get this issue with both 7.x-2.1 and 7.x-2.x-dev. I'm not sure what else to check any guidance would be much appreciated. The site is also completely up-to-date.
