Purpose

Open Source has historically been exclusionary for marginalized people, and the talent gap for junior developers is widening. Discover Drupal aims to uplift marginalized folks and close the talent gap by providing the necessary resources, skills, and connections for our students to be successful.

This initiative provides Drupal training scholarships, mentorship, and hands-on experience to folks who are interested in pursuing a career in Drupal and are from historically oppressed communities. Students that complete the program will be ready for an internship or early-career level position. Our 2021-2022 cohort graduated 4 students, and our 2022-2023 cohort graduated 6 students.

We are thrilled to continue empowering marginalized people in technology through Drupal. We will be taking 2023-2024 as a strategic visioning year, and we need your support. Please see our full statement on ReDiscovering Drupal on the Drupal Association blog:

A note on regional eligibility

We would love to open and expand Discover Drupal internationally, but we do not currently have program sponsorship from international companies. Our current employer partners are based in North America, which require eligible work criteria. If you are a non-U.S. Drupal organization that would like to sponsor Discover Drupal, please reach out to Kelly Delaney, Director, Partner Development at kelly@association.drupal.org.

Thank you to our training partners!
