With WYSIWYG 6.x-2.2, editors have no buttons by default. Now I have to go to admin/settings/wysiwyg/profile/profileId/edit to add back buttons.
This is a major usability regression introduced with #735624: Enabling one button removes default editor toolbar.
Why "major usability regression"? With 6.x-2.1, WYSIWYG retained the user friendly default toolbars, including separators between groups of buttons.
Now all I can do is wade through the unintuitive configuration screen at admin/settings/wysiwyg/profile/profileId/edit and create a single, linear, ungrouped toolbar. With CKEditor, the toolbar doesn't wrap until I have a deep horizontal toolbar (see attached image ugly_toolbar.png). TinyMCE's toolbar wraps, but it ends up a jumbled mess (see attached image ugly_toolbar_tinymce.png).
That patch needs to be withdrawn until more of the "master plan" in that issue's #33 is done.

TwoDDuplicate of #1003850: 6.x-2.2 has no toolbar buttons by default and the issue you mentioned. Please keep the discussion about a reopened issue in that issue.
