To increase the usability and ease of installation, I recommend that you provide an option to automatically install the zip files from ckeditor.com. This would be similar to drupal 7's auto-install ability for modules. It would go something like this:

1. The user installs the module.
2. The user receives a message they must upload CKeditor (and a link to the upload page)
3. The user clicks the link, and is directed to an upload page
4. The user downloads the ZIP file from ckeditor.com
5. The user uploads the ZIP file to the upload page (from the ckeditor module)
6. The module unzips ckeditor to the appropriate directory and makes the proper configuration

(do the same w/ Ckfinder)

I understand that CKEditor cannot itself be packages with this module because of legal issues, but the user would still have to download the file themselves, so it wouldn't violate any laws. This is just so users can install the module more easily.

This idea sounds quite clever. We will think about this in future.
