auto-detecting erroneous node variables

I created a feature csc_imax that includes a context (among other things). One of the context requirements is that the node must belong to one of three content types, all of which are handled by other features. However, Features is insisting on including the node options variables and all the comment variables from these three content types in my csc_imax feature. It doesn't want to include the content types themselves (which is good), but won't stop including these variables, which of course then causes a conflict with my other features.
