I'm wary of suggesting this, because I don't want it to delay the release of alpha4...

It would be nice if the statistics block on the forum index were available as a block instead of being added to that page's content. There would also need to be a setting to turn it off on the forum index. Actually, I've only sometimes seen this item on the forum index in my installation anyway; I think it would be better than the provided Drupal blocks to display on every page.

Alpha 4 isn't getting new features at this point unless it's something really quick all packaged up and ready for me. I've got my hands full with the remaining blockers.

As for this... It's easy enough to put the stats in a block but I suppose I could go that extra step and include a block. I don't know that I'd make a setting to turn it off... I try to restrict settings to things that can't easily be customized at the style level and this certainly can.

So I'll have to think about the setting but making a block is certainly doable for those who still use the block system.

This isn't going to happen in D6. I'm not crazy about the idea but you can move it to D7 if it's really important to you and see what troky thinks.
