I tried this module with Drupal Commons, it works. Except when I create content which has two vocabularies - one free tagging and the other one not free tagging. Drupal Commons groups them together on the form. So non free tagging vocabulary still is a combobox, not batax field.

I'm not sure if the problem is caused by the fact that I have two vocabularies, or because Commons groups them together?

Note: I tried another module http://drupal.org/project/taxiselect and it works with Drupal Commons

Another possibility. I think Drupal Commons replaces the taxonomy select widget with a combobox, because I think default is a list?

What do you mean by "batax field"? I don't understand your last phrase, neither.

The fact that you have two vocabularies does not change anything. About Drupal Commons, possible, but I haven't tried, thus I'm not sure.

Oh, sorry, I meant the TSS field. I just copied the same issue from batax module.

I tried 5 similar modules:

Big Autocomplete TAXonomy (batax)
Taxonomy Tree Select
Taxonomy Super Select
Hierarchical Select
TaxiSelect

First three modules - the same problem - the taxonomy filed is not replaced, it's still a combobox, I'm afraid Commons replaces standard taxonomy list.

Hierarchical Select - replaces the field, but has other problems.

Only TaxiSelect works.
