Hello, friends!

We are group of developers working on chess server, and we've just developed new module for Drupal 4.7.x. This module acts as a client for our server, so, if installed on any Drupal website, all users of this site may easily join to play at our server without any registration there! All they need to have is username on any site with this chess module.
Brief list of module features:
- any user can play chess at our server with any players from other websites with module installed (and with our server's native players);
- website wiil receive information about every game played by it's user, so, it can store and update Elo rates of it's users and PGN-logs of their games;
- any user can review any of his/her games (or any games of other users of website with module installed) using our viewer (Java applet) provided with module;
- website admin can set permissions for users to play chess and to access chess statistics (described below);
- finally, module can generate blocks and pages to list top players (sorted by Elo rate) and to list games (recent games, all games, all games of selected user). And every game in list contains a link to locally review it by anyone (with proper permissions).

Now, if you are interested, we'd like to tell, how to obtain this module. We haven't add it to CVS repository yet, because it is a beta. There might be some bugs and errors. That's why we want to run a kind of beta-testing for now, it is a primary goal of this advertisement. So, if you would like to try our module and participate in testing, or just to allow users of your website to play chess right now, send us a message via contact form, including a link to website where you would like to install the module. We will visit your website, answer your message and share our module to you.

Please, note, that for testing purposes it is good to install the module at website populated with some users.

Also we have to make a warning: If somebody wants to have full-ready-plug-and-play-good-stable chess module, please, do not apply for it right now, wait for release or RC. We'll do the best to share it soon!

If you are not applying for module, please, feel free to ask us any questions you have anyway :) (contact form)

Thank you!

I'm very interested in getting this working on one of my sites. Do you plan to have an update for Drupal 5.x?

Unfortunately, we had to interrupt the module development because of some circumstances.

Our *.chess2u.com domain is no longer exists and it probably won't ever appear in future. Our contact form is no longer avaible too.
I will email my new contact to everyone was interested and emailed to me earlier, to satisfy any questions left.

Moderators, please, close or delete this topic. Thank you.

Did you receive my message I've sent yesterday by your contact form, including my new contact e-mail?

We could get in touch by email or icq to talk about your interest. If you have any suggestions, like some specific chess features or anything else, there is possibility to start considering all your needs right now :)

That's not good news for the interested guys but I think they will have to accept that.

Thank you.

We are really sorry for suspending the module development. I would love to say that we'll be back soon but I won't say so, because I just don't know that for sure. But I do hope we will.

And all the best cheese to you to :)

I would really love to see an ajax chess module. :)
Most chess websites have bad chess boards. Yahoo chess games is one of the worst, most likely because the developers don't play chess. ;)
