The documentation for ViewsCalc says you can't do complex queries on Relationships. Is count included in this?

I want to count nodes in a related content-type.

My view displays rows of environmental challenges people can accept with y/n details such as whether there's a group for it, forum, docs, etc. . When you click on 'I Accept' you create an instance of that challenge for that user in another content type. There is also a view for this Accepted Challenges by user with links to the groups, etc if they exist. I want to display the total count of users who have accepted each challenge in the first view.

I need the relationship and the count would be extremely useful information for people to know that others are also challenging themselves to make changes. It's like the icing on the cake makes all the difference. In other words, I need to find a way to do this. - even if I have to count them in one view and add them manually to the other.

Help anyone?
