Well, I've finally managed to successfully encode to ogg, flv, mov, mp4 and webm. HTML5 works - sort of - using the Default player, but VideoJS just grinds away and never finds the file(s).

Best solution now is to use Flowplayer3, but in this case, the iPhone uses QT to play the video, starts it immediately on page load and the controls don't really work. Not good.

I'm assuming that the JS Player would have working controls on iPhone - any suggestions here? Thanks!

OK - I've tried everything I can think of and encoded mp4 eight ways from Sunday - the player is simply refusing to play video.

Is it possible that in encoding too many formats (5), the player is getting "confused?" In any event, this is up on a robust VPS with solid installation of ffmpeg, qt-faststart, flvtool2, ffmpeg2theora and HandBrakeCLI - I'm happy to give the developer access to the site so he/she can see what's going on; the problem is with the player, for sure.
