One of my sites (currently running D6) uses a subtheme of pixture reloaded. I'm ready to upgrade the site to D7, and I figured that would mean upgrading my theme as well. I see that the code for pixture reloaded has been significantly reworked now, and that it is itself a subtheme of adaptive. I'm wondering if it is wise for me to make a subtheme of pixture reloaded again, or if I should make a subtheme of adaptive (seems like a lot of work), or if I should try to do a direct port or the D6 version of pixture incorporating my changes into it. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I'm hoping not to have to do too much coding, because I didn't make many changes to pixture reloaded, just a few simple overrides and some new css.

thanks a lot,
-Josh

I have not worked with the D6 version of PR, but have made several PR sub themes using the D7 branch. In my experience it is a lot of work to change the header height from 88px, but other than that I was able to make tweaks as needed. Comments from the marketing folks were that it looked clean and crisp, so I've been happy with PR.

It does sound like there were a lot of changes between the D6 and D7 versions, so I'm guessing you have some work ahead.

I would start by installing the theme and attempting to port your changes forward. The most significant changes are in the markup - its all HTML5 now and there are a lot of new class names in Drupal 7.

You can still make a subtheme as you did before, this is no problem, just do it exactly the same as you did for Drupal 6.

If you have any specific questions just fire away, I'll try to help out as much as I can.
