I got it to work the way i wanted. I created galleries (unpublished) + blocks that are displayed in the content area and the content of the galleries are displayed in Colorbox. It works fine but when I logout from the drupal colorbox would not display the images. The Colorbox overlay works but the image box collapses in the center.

I checked permissions. and the clean urls works. Any help is welcome.

Hi J,
Try reset the module - I had a fair amount of trouble with colorbox when I migrated it.
I found by unenable and re-enable sorted it out. - I am not sure why

I'm having the same (or similar) problem. When I click on a gallery image the colorbox overlay comes up and the colorbox starts to come up, but then disappears (leaving only a blank overlay). I've checked all settings (particularly permissions) to no end and cannot see what the problem is. Resetting the Colorbox module didn't do anything. I tried looking at settings for galleries on Drupal Gardens, but what you can see is limited by Acquia. Any help would be appreciated...I'll continue to troubleshoot and report back if a solution is found.
