I'm trying to structure my images by retroactively moving them to the proper directories (based on node type).
However when I have an image file field that is required I get the error:
The selected file sites/default/files/node-type/image.jpg could not be uploaded, because the destination is not properly configured.
It works with the image fields where an input is not required.
Is there a fix for this?

A lot of work went into putting a 'Follow' button on Drupal.org to eradicate the oh so annoying '+1' comments, please never ever post one again, or you will simply annoy people...

As for the issue, without reproduction steps so that I can see the issue myself, there's not much I can do. Please provide as much information as you can so I can try to resolve it.
Cheers,
Deciphered.

lanzs CreditAttribution: lanzs commentedI think I have had the same error. In my case the problem was in bad configured 'FileField Path settings'. In 'file path' I also put 'sites/default/files/' which is not necessary. After removing 'sites/default/files/' and slahes (beginning and end) - seems an error has gone
