Hi,
When running the update.php script i get many mysql errors. Do i actually need to update the database at all for 4.5-rc1 - 4.5?
Seems to be a lot of 'duplicate column' errors....?

It would depend on which release candidate you have. I know I started my test site over once. If I recall, the database updates are listed in the script.

Database structure should be same....
If you are upgrading from rc1 to the latest release, then there should be no difference between the database structures. The database upgrade script would be needed if you are upgrading from 4.4.x and below.
Therefore, you shouldn't need to run the upgrade script.

That's exactly what I thought, but the user docs do say to run the script if upgrading from 4.5-rc1 to 4.5.0.....
