I'm creating a form based on node fields and want the users to see an introductory text above the form, that is uneditable.
I installed the dev version of Field Permissions, but whatever setting i put, the introductory text is either invisible or just present and editable.
If anyone succeeds in keeping a field READ ONLY in the node edit form, please let me know.

Probably that is not the purpose of this module.

You may try the Field Readonly module.

A patch has been added to #1547172: Read only just greyed out which provides this functionality. The Field Readonly module is no longer necessary.
