Hi, ive been in digital design for about 7 years. I started off at college where I used adobe cs mainly photoshop and dreamweaver, most of my employment has been photoshop based, not dreamweaver.

Ive been building websites with drupal for about 2 years, the majority of this has been just downloading and enabling the modules, with some custom html/css and very little php/module customization.

I think I have quite a good understanding of html and css but know hardly anything about php and sql.

Ive recently started using w3schools to learn php and sql, and have got hold of a few drupal books. Now so far none of it has been challenging or hard to understand, its just that theres so much to go through, so really time consuming.

Im looking at learning php as I enjoy using drupal and want a job working with it, but I was wondering how long it will take me to be at a standard before somebody will employ me, am I looking at years of studying or can I do this in a few months?

it took about 4-5 months to learn PHP but I had the advantage of working with someone that was willing to teach me and answer every stupid question I had
