I like the Darktik colors and Antonellis fluidity. So I merged them. So far everything works ok. I'll put it up if people want it.

I like the idea.
You can probably set the parent theme in Dartik's .info file to read :
base theme = antonelli
then set Dartik as your default theme and you're done.

Well there were a few more details than that. I got it to work as a new sub theme of Bartik. So I now I have a new Bartik subtheme called Darktonelli. So far everything works fine.

At some point I'll have to learn to do actual theme creation...

Darktonelli... nice...
I wonder what else was needed, unless it was your own modifications you wanted/needed.
