Been messing around with this for a day and a half or 2 now,

And in actuality it's 11 errors but 8 sounds better, like a movie title.

I can list the errors however the error.log of apache shows nothing or is hiding them because they are repeats.

I'm using the 7 alpha1 Figured it'd be stable and usable.

Other error:
Other problems I've encountered are that images don't display by default. It shows as a file icon or a replacement image for broken images. I thought at first it was a memory error or something. I tried to put the image in again, it stopped it cold instead of asking me to overwrite it. I then tried to delete it, but it errors out. I then tried to patch with a dev patch, so at least I could view it, but that failed. I though, "ok, I can uninstall it and re install it." It doesn't remove its own database entries (at least not the fields or warn if they are still tied).

Feedback on stuff:
Going back a bit to when I was setting it up, I was rather confused. I had YouTube installed as well. No "media: flickr" showed up, no documentation that you need to do that per entry afterwords. I spent a few minutes googling before I decided to just go with it, and found the atypical undocumented post configuration for a separate widget, which is some ways good for this field just confusing and atypical.

I learned about styles somehow. I think it was after I decided I could not do with the drupal toolbar and its lack of trees. I later played with them a bit, and found styles. I switch back and forth between styles and field settings, playing with it and trying to figure out which display would show where and how to use this new thing. It would be better suited as a forum_alter on the:
Home » Administration » Structure » Content types » (page/book/whatever)

It'd be best as a new tab where you could switch to it instead of an forum_alter. Of course, there's not much space with fields and displays taking up 2 tabs each because content and comments are different. (Isn't that redundant? Aren't comments just another content type?) I figured that it might fix the viewing problem. It showed me that when I used the url/link style and styled it correctly, it did indeed find it it. Just was refusing to render it. In learning that though, I found out how to change the YouTube styling. It's a rather slick system.

Title: 1 view 8 errors & impressions » Continued Testing

I have continued testing, Drupal is catching all the errors and they are logging as things as core not flickr. This makes it hard to track down and give better feedback. I have done a complete re-install with a fresh database 2 times, . I have yet to come up with a solution though to displaying images in the alpha1. I've now moved to testing in dev.

From what I can understand the setup of this module for creating content would go along the lines.

  1. Download media and install
  2. Download media_flickr and install
  3. Go to: Home » Administration » Configuration » Media
  4. http://www.flickr.com/services/apps/ get your api key & secret
  5. With Flickr settings, input your api key and secret
  6. Create a new media type or skip this step and continue with next
  7. Add media field to desired content type we will refer to media test
  8. Go to: Home » Administration » Structure » Content types » Media Test
  9. Under custom display settings tick/check full as well as teaser
  10. Select full content, then media, and the style you wish. Example: large
  11. Select teaser, then media, make sure it's visible, and to the style you wish. Example: small
  12. Go to: Home » Administration » Configuration » Media
  13. Edit large to show how you wish and small

Perhaps I am missing some steps, and this is why I'm getting the errors? I have also made sure that site/default/files is set to 777. Display seems only possible by using the link style for everything then creating a view for each type with views.

I also think this would be a good outline for new documentation in the README and/or an advanced_help addition for this module.

I'd say it's a great idea to put those steps in a HOW-TO type file, but they don't work for me.
