MailChimp to Drupal user maintenance - removing cleaned subscribers from Drupal site

Hello,
As background, I moved from Constant Contact to Mailchimp when I discovered this module. I created a list and required my members to subscribe, and ran cron. Mailchimp noted the addition of some 1,300 e mails. We hadn't cleaned our list in a long long time thus upon our first newsletter some 15% were bounced.

I see that Mailchimp automatically cleans these from their side of things, but what happens over in my Drupal site? All I see is these addresses were automatically unsubscribed, which makes sense I guess.

The question is, am I right in my understanding that these names will not be added back into mail chimp unless I 1. get a valid e mail address and then 2. manually re-subscribe them to the list?
