when http://drupal.org/project/title is used to replace the product title
the new field title is included in the static elements and can't get a combination name
is that a bug or should it be a feature request ?

This is a feature request. It is not hard to add title module support but I'll have to find implement it ...

Commerce bpc will use a "core like" release management, meaning that new features will go into the 2.x branch (but might be backported).
