I've created a content pane in the fullcalendar view that is automatically created when the module is enabled. Dropping this pane into a panel region works fine as is. If I copy and appropriately rename the style output template and the row style output template to sites/all/themes/mytheme/views/fullcalendar, the calendar disappears.
It disappears because (it seems) every variable in the row style output template is empty when a custom template is being used.
If I remove the custom row style output template file and leave the custom style output file, the calendar seems to work fine.
If I remove the style output template file and leave the custom row style output file, the calendar does not disappear, but all of the events do.

tim.plunkettI guess I should try to reproduce this.

tim.plunkettThe latest version of FullCalendar removes the usage of tpl.php files. I need to write documentation for how to customize calendars without tpl.php files.

tim.plunkett@ejh3 Can you post your customized tpl.php files? (http://paste.pocoo.org)
The types of changes you made to them will help me understand how people tweaked them, which will make the documentation better.

jh3 CreditAttribution: jh3 commentedI did not customize the view templates. The view data just disappeared when I copied the templates to my theme directory.

tim.plunkettI added basic documentation here: http://drupal.org/node/1327018.
Fixing this is now part of #1318090: Prevent old fullcalendar.tpl.php files from breaking new renderable arrays.
