In line with http://drupal.org/node/1270342, here the exposed filter title description is set usable for beautytips with some custom css to hide the description.

Maybe it cannot be done, I don't know: having beautytips when hovering the checkbox text, for better explanation of the term filter item.

Therefore the taxonomy term description is perfect. Unfortunately the term description field is not rendert in the html body only the term label.
Can this be achieved in BEF (checkbox/radiobox)?

I have been asking everywhere about this same functionality! (I want the taxonomy term description on hover for forms and node displays.

Posted to Tipsy module issue queue, as this module comes close to achieving this. Have contacted the dev of that module directly and asked if Tipsy could include this. He replied, but awaiting his final decision about.

So, you might watch that post too.

How much begging will this take? Will you do this for money? (I need it to work globally for taxonomy term reference field checkboxes, and taxonomy term reference node display output.) I have tried sooooo many different things. Could be my shaky PHP getting in the way, but I also have stumped many developers are themers on this one. Guess it is too hard for everyone.

Seriously, this is a UI nightmare ...in BEF and Drupal in general.

I also have a client asking for an optional tooltip for filter options (terms, CCK list options, etc.). Is there any plan to include this functionality in BEF?

Issue queue cleanup... My apologies for taking so long to address this issue!

I've added an option for checkboxes/radio buttons (and nested ones) to include the term description. I didn't have time to add this for other renderings of a term exposed filter.
