This is the first stable release of the 4.x branch. As of this writing, there are no reported issues or feature requests in the issue queue for this version of the module.
As this is an alpha release, it is important to know that backwards-compatibility breaking changes may still be introduced. This should not be used in production sites at this time.
This development release of the 4.x version of Google Programmable Search captures proposed changes summarized in #3279974: 4.x release, which will make the module support the Programmable Search Element API.
NOTE: The paid version of Google CSE/Site Search is being deprecated, and it will be phased out by April 1, 2018. Some of the current maintainers don't use the paid product, so code merged in for that functionality was RTBC'd by community members and may still contain bugs.
This is a bug-fix release, which also includes some minor cosmetic tweaks (for instance, the search box has the same default width as that of the search module) and clarifications (e.g. the "search domain" setting is for a Google domain, not your site's domain).
This release features some code cleanup, extra customizability (e.g. search results page title and different widths for searchbox in a block and on a page), and some changes to make it easier to translate. The search results page is now at search/google because I think it makes more sense and translates better.
Initial release of Google Custom Search Engine (CSE) module. Could be thought of as a lighter-weight version of googleajaxsearch. Does not require a Google Ajax Search API key, and is ad-free for non-profits, schools, etc.
