Breadcrumb doesn't display on taxonomy page

Hello,

I've setup a custom breadcrumb to be displayed on a taxonomy page, without using the taxonomy hierarchy option, because I need to use different crumb titles that can use fields added to taxonomy term.

But nothing appears. It only shows up if I select the "use the taxonomy hierarchy...".
Am I missing something ?
