Enable the Exposed Filters for "VIEWS - NODES THAT CAN BE REFERENCED" for use inside the node/add or node/nid/edit forms.

Who wants it, can we have it?

seconded. I would volunteer myself implementing it, if someone can affirm the possibility.

Thirded. ;)

This would be a really neat addition.

I dare say you'll need to plan this out a bit more to make sure it's clear what you mean. It sounds hard.

What is the status on this? I have created a dependent module that attaches 'Exposed filters' to the Node reference widget. It also addresses reference fields inside field collections. I would appreciate some feedback.

@ravi_sam
Hello, I tried your module but unfortunately couldn't get it to work. Firstly, I think the file needs renaming to references_filtered_dropdown.tar.gz and secondly I am getting this warning when I try and apply a filter:
'Warning: Illegal offset type in references_filtered_dropdown_ajax() (line 147 of......references_filtered_dropdown.module).'
And the view is not filtered.
Hope this is useful, I'm sorry I can't help much as I'm no coder.
Thanks,
Matt

Hi Matt,

Thank you very much for your feedback. The '_' in the filename was auto-inserted by the upload form. I am attaching a new version of my module which hopefully will be uploaded with the actual name. Else, please manually rename it before using.

This new version fixes the error you had reported ('Illegal offset type'), and also adds some features for reference fields inside a field collection (viz. global exposed filters). Also, this version supports node as well as user reference fields. Feedback awaited, as usual :)
