Support for Drupal 7 is ending on 5 January 2025—it’s time to migrate to Drupal 10! Learn about the many benefits of Drupal 10 and find migration tools in our resource center.
When you only activate views slideshow and and edit the style options, then you see:
Slides
There is no Views Slideshow plugin enabled. Go to the Modules Page and enable a Views Slideshow plugin module. For example Views Slideshow Singleframe.
Singleframe is nowhere to be found in the Module Page only Slideshow Cycle. I consider this a usability bug when you propose a module in an example that does not exist.

MustangGB CreditAttribution: MustangGB commentedThe solution is to enable a plugin as the text suggests, however the default plugin is now called Views Slideshow: Cycle

luthien CreditAttribution: luthien commentedI'm having the same problem with the version for drupal 6. There is not a Singleframe plugin in the dropdown. Selecting cycle does not works as expected. All the images are displayed in a separated row, not in a single frame. My image is an image attach field. I'm trying to create an image slideshow with "fade" effect. The cycle plugin works fine for other effects, it is failing with the fade effect.
