This module is still in dev, (last commit 13/01/2011) beside a non working beta.
Too many bugs / missing features, no support for the latest bbb, you cannot expect that a conference will run or not.
The maintainer seems not to focus much attention anymore on this module, while most issues should be easily solved with some php, module architecture and Drupal contribution knowledge.
I see no alternatives in Drupal, while bbb as well as the basic ideas of this module are really exciting and relevant. The usage is not that bad despite its status, I would think a very large adoption if only it worked reliably enough.
Can Sanduhrs tell us his position on this, and possibly help to ensure an ongoing maintenance and improvements?
Thanks again for having made this module available

siriuschild CreditAttribution: siriuschild commentedI agree, it would be great to see this module running in a fully functional manner. I'm sorry I don't have the skills to help make it happen at the moment as I feel it would be an asset to the Drupal community.

Chipie CreditAttribution: Chipie commentedHi Sanduhrs,
if you do not want to continue maintaining the bbb module, I would be glad to maintain this module. At the moment I am adding a upload and recording features to the bbb module.
Thank you for your great work.
Regrads,
Chipie

jvieille CreditAttribution: jvieille commentedThank you very much Chipie for proposing your maintainer-ship.
By the way, which version do you work on? the beta and dev are totally different modules, not sure which one actually works (somewhat)
Chipie CreditAttribution: Chipie commentedI have patched the the dev version for drupal 7 and bbb 0.8-beta3
Comment #5
jvieille CreditAttribution: jvieille commentedCan you commit this as a new dev?
If it is not possible, can you post a tar/zip of the patched module?
Thanks

generix CreditAttribution: generix commentedBBB seems quite promising as a solution.
Any chance of someone patching the dev version for drupal 6.x and bbb 0.8?
I would be open to collaboration if interested in exploring our business development/marketing activities
Thanks

jvieille CreditAttribution: jvieille commentedAny update on getting a workable D6 release for BBB 0.8?
I am currently stuck.
Happy seasons greeting

AlanO CreditAttribution: AlanO commentedI REALLY wish to use this module for Drupal 7. I honestly wish I knew code so that I can help with this. This seems like great stuff to use.
jvieille CreditAttribution: jvieille commentedNo news from Sanduhrs apparently.
Is the process of transferring the maintainership to Chipie already going on?
Chipie CreditAttribution: Chipie commentedI did not hear anything from Sanduhrs yet.
sanduhrsSorry for the silence.
I'm not able to develop then module atm due to lack of time.
I'd be fine adding someone as a co-maintainer, though.
jvieille CreditAttribution: jvieille commentedGlad to hear that you are back and apparently healthy!
markwk CreditAttribution: markwk commentedAny update on passing maintainership?
@Chipie @jhaski: are you still interested taking maintainership for this module?
I'm probably going to be spending a few days testing and fixing some things in the 7.x branch. Be good to backport 7.x fixes and features to 6.x branch after.
Did any get the recording functionality working? Or even just some starter code ideas to work from..?
Chipie CreditAttribution: Chipie commentedI would like to maintain this module.
I have enabled recording and preuploading documents to bbb. But I have to cleanup the code, it is still kind of "dirty" ;)
markwk CreditAttribution: markwk commentedCool... have you posted your current stuff somewhere? github or sandbox or something? I'd like to move the recording forward so I'm open to digging in the dirt...
sanduhrs@Chipie: I gave you commit access.
Thanks for taking over.
jvieille CreditAttribution: jvieille commentedWould be glad to test a version that works, and even better with the support of the recording feature
Comment #18
markwk CreditAttribution: markwk commented@jvieille: It doesn't look like Chipie has pushed any changes yet ;( I've got some stuff I'm working on with loading slides and recording the session. I haven't pushed it yet to github where I'm doing the dev but should have this working either today or early next week.
@Chipie: can you push all those patches from http://drupal.org/node/1016910#comment-4994574 or from here: https://github.com/markwk/bbb? We need a 7.x-1.x branch and a dev release. That way we can close some issues and patch according to separate issues / code.
Chipie CreditAttribution: Chipie commentedI was going to post my dev version with uploading and recording features this weekend. I will have a look at your patches this weekend.
markwk CreditAttribution: markwk commentedTis a shame your delays... I advice you to do a bit of reading on Open Source development / community practices. The Moodle version truly puts us Drupalers to shame. The number of past and current issues shows the community desire for this project.
sanduhrsSorry, I'm still not available for further development.
Chipie got commit access to the project.
See http://drupal.org/node/1353192#comment-5531816
If anyone else with coding abilities wants to join, (s)he's welcome.
markwk CreditAttribution: markwk commentedI don't really want to commit to full maintainership but I'd be willing to chip away at this some while I work on it for a personal project.
markwk CreditAttribution: markwk commented@sanduhrs: can you give me commit access? I'll push a working version for D7 with recording and a couple additional features.
Chipie CreditAttribution: Chipie commentedI have pushed the patches from http://drupal.org/node/1016910#comment-4994574 to the 7.x-1.x branch
Comment #25
Chipie CreditAttribution: Chipie commented@markwk: I can commit your changes, if you want.
jvieille CreditAttribution: jvieille commentedInterested in D6 only... I cannot help on D7 for the time being.
Is the code of your branch directly derived from the current D6? Whatr would have to be changed to work on D6?
Thanks
Comment #27
Chipie CreditAttribution: Chipie commentedI haven't looked at D6 version yet. Perhaps you can download the D7 module and compare the differences?
jvieille CreditAttribution: jvieille commentedYes, I'll do that once a working D7 is available
Comment #29
sanduhrs@markwk: Gave you commit access, please coordinate your efforts with Chipie.
jvieille CreditAttribution: jvieille commentedAny hope to get a working module for D6 / bbb0.8?
