Hi Everyone!

I am looking for a freelance Drupal developer/developers to help me with projects in the not-for-profit sector. Ideally someone good at working with themes too, for customisation. Or possibly a designer with good knowledge and experience of running drupal sites.

Background: my company and I did a lot of work using Drupal a couple of years ago and even contributed a module (via one of my developers) - the SMS Gateway - for a solution we developed for Schools (link is to demo site). Unfortunately we seemed to struggle with upgrades so we eventually moved on, as did most of the guys that knew the system.

I subsequently got involved with a joint venture and decided to build our own lightweight (php-based) CMS/meta search engine/directory, which I will eventually release as Open Source, to which I remain committed, once I have earned a modest return on the investment.

I still use Drupal for a few of our sites, including www.surreyineurope.org, which is still a young/small site due to time constraints but which I would like to build up into an important site for local debate on the European Union as a force for good in the world.

Because of all this, I still go back occasionally to have a look and continue to be impressed by the features and ongoing development and commitment of the Community. And I regularly come across NPOs who require a lot of functionality which our system does not have but Drupal does.

So it becomes a case of 'build or buy'. Since my business has moved on and I have started outsourcing anyway, a logical option is to look for a freelance developer who can help me serve this sector at a price they can afford. There are some very good causes out there that need our help.

To clarify - I am talking about paid work here, just not, perhaps, at the best commercial rates around - hence the post to this section.

I am in business ultimately for the greater good and I know the Drupal Community is about that too, so if anyone out there wants to help me do that and increase Drupal's reach even further, please get in touch!

Thanks!
Arthur
