AJAX sort order not working

This is a problem occurring when using Mothership base or a child theme. The AJAX sort, ie on the Blocks page, doesn't work. You can drag an item but it does not want to drop. IF you click, it will look to have changed order, but on saving none of the changes apply. I have tried disabling modules with no luck in correcting. Switching to any other theme allows normal operation of AJAX sort.

Has anyone else had this happen? Found a solution?
