What is DrupalCon

"DrupalCons are the major events and gathering places for the community of thousands of Drupal users, developers, designers, evaluators and business people to participate sessions, talks, code sprints, and social events. Every year, two DrupalCons are held: one in North America early in the year and the other later in the year in Europe." [http://drupal.org/drupalcon]

How can you help DrupalCon in a click STEP 1

DrupalCon is only as good as we, the community, make it. We need to grow our following on social media, particularly Facebook. By Liking DrupalCon you are also telling your friends, helping us to build awareness.

The power of a Re-Tweet STEP 2

Why not amplify our message by occasionally giving @DrupalCon a little love with a simple RT on Twitter. By Re-tweeting a @DupalCon post you are telling your followers about our fabulous conference, people who are not necessarily followin @DrupalCon. Takes a second, means a lot. What is a Re-Tweet?

Are you missing out?

Previously each DrupalCon has had its own Twitter and Facebook accounts. From now on all conference messages will go through the above accounts. Please make sure you are in the look by connecting with us.

Go the extra mile

So you are a DrupalCon Loyalist? A short blog post about DrupalCon with a link to the next conference web site, and a mention of our Social Media accounts will help broaden the reach of the event. You all have wide and varied connections to people outside the community the Drupal Association can reach, we need your help. Here are some suggestions.

  • Describe your highlights of the last DrupalCon. What did you get out of attending?
  • How do I convince my boss to send me to DrupalCon?
  • Are you presenting at the next DrupalCon, tell us more!
  • What did you learn at DrupalCon?
  • Why would someone like you go to DrupalCon?
  • Attending for the first time? Why not write about your motivations and expectations.

I am working with Neil Kent and the Drupal Association to help achieve success for DrupalCon using Social Media. If you have any views, contributions, ideas please connect with me on Twitter @pdjohnson.

Thanks for all your help.

Together we can make DrupalCon even more amazing!
