The current box plugin must be configured many times to support multiple queries.
The attached plugin can use any text field as a reference value. Say you added the text field field_foo to the user entity. A user can enter a value in field_foo and that value will be queried for and a block will be shown on the user's page with the response to that twitter query.
Needs work since I haven't dealt with l10n yet. This currently only works when no languages are defined or used.
As with any other box, after you configure it, you must place it in a region just like any other block. You shouldn't have to worry about the pages it appears on since it's pretty intelligent in itself.

Robin Millette CreditAttribution: Robin Millette commentedTurns out it probably works with locale and i18n modules enabled. Let me know if you run into any bugs regarding that.I enabled locale, i18n and a bunch of related modules. Added a text field to content types, multilingual and not, vocabularies, etc. Everything works for me, but let me know if you run into any related problems.
