The drop down menu will not show properly in IE 7, 8.
In Firefox the theme and the drop down work fine but in IE 7,8.

In IE the issues like this:
IE Problem

In Firefox it's ok.
Firefox

This problem is introduced in de 2.2 release and not in the 2.1 release.
Fix this issue and the theme is good in every browser.

Not really going to care about IE7 but it should be working good in IE8, I will take a look. Please become familiar with the various options for issues. Thanks.

Hi, I am having the same issue with IE7 and it would be great to get this resolved as this is working correctly with other browsers. I have tested with Firefox and Chrome as well as IE8 and the superfish menu is being displayed correctly in all of those. However, in IE7 I am getting this issue. I think this is quiet important as a lot of people are still using IE7 and it would stop me from using this theme in a production site.

Jeff, do you think this is something that could be fixed or not? Thank you very much.

It could be fixed, but I am not going to fix it. Two different things - if you or someone else wants to supply a patch to fix it in IE7 then you are welcome - I have no intention to support this old browser that almost no one is using. Your opinion that "quite a few people are still using it", is false, we're talking 3.32% at most and falling fast.

Remember - you are the one choosing to use technology that not everyone might have the best experience using - you do not have to use Superfish. If your IE7 users are that important to you then don't use Superfish.

Hi Jeff, PR is a great theme and it would be great to be able to work properly in most browsers but fair enough I understand your points. I also don't understand why some people would still use IE7, but this is a different conversation :)

I see in the original post that this bug has been introduced in v2.2 and that it was working properly v2.1, although I cannot confirm it. If that's the case, then maybe you could point us to the right direction and although I am not an expert themer, either myself or somebody else could give it a try.

Many thanks again for all your great work!

Sorry, I meant to say in all the browsers that people are still using :) Anyway, maybe we could leave this open just in case somebody else with the same problem manages to provide a patch for it, either way thanks for your help.

Hi Jeff, I have set this to active again and a feature request, just so that this is visible and maybe somebody who also needs this functionality might be able to help with getting superfish menus to work properly on IE7 too, I will also try to give it a go if I find the time. I suggest that we keep this open for a while and if nobody cares then we can close this down again. I hope that this is ok with you, otherwise please feel free to close this. Thank you.

Its up to you, I can leave this open for a while, but eventually will close it because it clutters my issue queue, that's why I close things, so I can more effectively manage issues. The sad reality is that I just don't have time to support edge case technology, there are so many other things that are more important, like supporting iPad, iPhone and technology that is getting more popular - this stuff is complicated and takes a lot of time, to spend time supporting something that is essentially going out if not gone altogether is not productive or effective use of my time. I think you guys don't realise how much time I spend on these projects - its epic, think many hours every day (most of every day).

Thank you Jeff for keeping this open, let's hope that somebody will manage to give a solution for this, otherwise let's get this closed after a while if not. The original post mentions that this used to work ok in the 7.x-2.1 version, so I'll also try to have a look and see what the differences are and what change could have caused this.

I really and honestly appreciate all your time and effort that you spend on all this and I am sure a lot of other people too. If I did not then I would not bother trying these out and commenting here :) I completely agree that the effort should be focused on all the newer technologies and trends and you are doing a great job on this! :)

Thanks for the feedback, I get really happy when people find the contributions useful, its the whole point :)
