When you add in an image, you can add nice placing options (float left or right, put a border round it, etc) using the "Image Info" tab. However none of these take effect when you actually save the page. In order for the options to take effect, you first have to click on the "Advanced" tab, where you can see that IMCE has created a CSS style setting on the basis of what you have created. You shouldn't really have to do this...
