Site where this is working correctly [#145970]

I'm using the account reminder (Drupal version 5) on several sites. They all seem to be working properly, except the site that uses the combustion theme. The variable in the reminder email are not displaying properly:

Subject: Account details for !username at !site

Charles,

This is a reminder from No-Regifting!. You have registered for a user account
but have not yet validated your email address. To fully activate your account at
http://noregifting.com/user login using the following username and password:

username: Charles
password: wgTVLSy8ZM

You may also log in by clicking on this link or copying and pasting it in your browser:

http://noregifting.com/user/reset/8/1179810003/b3d28e02968635f5d56ea0ff8...

Notice in the subject that the username and password are not displayed correctly (we see the variables instead). And the body doesn't process the tags properly.

Any suggestions as to where to look within the theme to correct this problem?

You'll notice that the variables are filled with content in the subject, and the "" tags are not in the body as they are in the non-functioning site mentioned in my first post.
