Is field_collection.theme.css really needed?

It's yet another stylesheet for me to have to override in my various themes :(

Marking this as a duplicate of #1157794: Move markup to template files and improve theming in new 2.x branch. CSS is reduced in that patch, getting rid of the major offenders (i.e., floats). What's left is needed for the operation links.
