When a person goes to https://drupal.org/download they are presented with the following links for install profiles:

  • Community Site
  • E-commerce
  • News Site
  • Wiki
  • More Profiles

The link to the Community Site points to a project with this warning, and the warning itself is over a year old: WARNING: this installation profile hasn't been updated in almost a year at this point, and no longer pulls current releases of the included modules. Until one of the Open Media Project partners has the time to create or fund a new release, it is recommended that you avoid this profile and instead visit the individual module pages to obtain current releases.

The link to the wiki profile features a D7 alpha release that hasn't been updated since September, 2011.

The other three links point to places that are useful, but at this point, the links that are easiest to find point to a small subset of projects that, taken as a whole, aren't fully representative of the awesomeness that are Install Profiles.

I looked for duplicate issues before posting this, and didn't find any - please feel to close this out if it's a duplicate.
