Date Changer -- more of a select field than a blank text field with popup.

I have Date Changer configured and working correctly where the user can click on text field and up pops a calendar and they select a month and day. Selecting the day isn't obvious though when you are a month calendar. I would expect to select August 2012 and then go there but you have to select something like August 13, 2012 and then you go to August calendar.

I was wondering if here is a way to have the date changer be a select box where it would show upcoming months and you could select select from them. i.e. a select box would have April 2012, May 2012, June 2012, etc.. And basically show 6 months prior and 6 months after the current month.
