Would love to see an eventaul update to thsi module to integrate with the new Mailchimp "Mandrill" SMTP service which it appears is replacing Mailchimp use of Amazon STS. I love mailchimp, but not such a fan of STS, as I coul dnever *quite* get it all configured and working. Using a "native" mailchimp transactional SMTP option, with integrated billing/account sounds great.

@mudsurfer, we actually just got the word today from MailChimp that Mandrill is in public beta and will begin work on an integration ASAP.

Hello from Chile! Any word as to what Mailchimp's plans are for Mandrill? Is this meant to totally replace Amazon SES integration that already exists or is this meant to be an additional and separate feature for those who want a native Mailchimp transactional solution?

Hey Ben - I think it's meant to eventually replace MC's STS service, but not sure. It's a priority for MailChimp to complete this integration, and we're working on it this month. Love to hear all about Chili ...

UPDATE: Mandrill will be a standalone project located at http://drupal.org/project/mandrill. Initial port from STS is complete and the basic functionality is working. Take a look and post any issues into the Mandrill queue. I'm closing this one out.

Please note that once we roll a stable 1.0 release of Mandrill, the STS submodule will be removed from the core MailChimp module.
