After having a working version of the contact form with the title appearing in Hebrew as my preferred language, I upgraded to the newer version 6.x-1.13 of the contact forms and now I get the word 'Contact' stuck in every contact form title:

I don't know. Try saving translation and /admin/build/contact/settings again.

You shouldn't have to translate that way.
here you can set the title
/admin/build/contact/settings
