Add support for location searches [#1535306]

Hi,
are you planning to include integration to http://drupal.org/project/search_api_db as well?
Search API and Proximity/Distance search is a great feature.

I agree that this would be a great feature, but sadly I don't think that it will be implemented. Any location support that DBMSs have would probably be highly vendor-specific, and implementing this ourselves would be very hard (although geohashes might make this at least possible, if not easy).

Is this the appropriate issue to discuss supporting location in search_api_db in D8, or should I open a separate issue in the search_api queue (since search_api_db now ships as part of search_api in D8).

I'm interested in this and just submitted the (probably duplicate) #2972154: What's the feasibility of adding support for search_api_db as a backend? about search_api_location support for search_api_db.
