Paypal now has a much cheaper option to accept payments on your own website than Paypal Payments Pro called Paypal Payments Advanced. See here for details, https://www.paypal.com/webapps/mpp/paypal-payments-advanced.

It would be great to see this payment option added to the Paypal payment options within Ubercart.

Thanks!
Jason

The best way to get new features is to develop them yourself, or sponsor the development if you really need it. We (the maintainers) have no current plans to add this, but we welcome any community contributions and will gladly add this functionality to the Ubercart PayPal module if someone wants to work on it.

Oh, and new features should go into the current version of Ubercart first, so if you plan to work on it, please work on a 7.x-3.x patch.

this would be very welcomed. I'd throw in a few bucks to help contribute. Unfortunately don't have the technical ability myself.

I would be willing to create this module if there was sufficient sponsorship. Sorry I can't just do it on my own time for free - I have two (too?) infrequent clients, so I need the additional income.

The downside is... I've never participated in a "sponsored project", so I really don't know how it is supposed to work. Do the participating sponsors offer a set amount, so that the project is done for a pre-agreed upon amount? ...or what?

Also, what do I need to do here in Drupal.org to get set up as a maintainer of the as-yet-undeveloped module?

Any additional information regarding this type of arrangement would be most helpful.

Hi.

We modulebazaar have released the paypal payments advanced module. You can check [link removed] for more details

A commercial product? How about donating the code back to Ubercart? Since you're distributing the code, you're obligated to license it under GPL. Which means that anyone who buys it from you can make the code public if he/she desires. So if you won't contribute the code, maybe someone who bought it from you will.

So maybe one or more of the above posters who are interested in this functionality can get a copy of this commercial product and post it here so this feature can get into Ubercart?

Is this even an ubercart module?

king12323’s picture

Yes! Chubbell. It is even an ubercart module

TR’s picture

@king12323 - you seem to be the same person as @modulebazaar?

Hmm the modules price is kinda steep. I wouldn't mind it if the price was closer to say $25 or if modulebazzar want's to release it for free maybe they can give us a buy out price and once that's done have them post it as a free module on there and support it.

PayPal Payments Advanced is an updated version of Payflow Link. There is already a module for this at http://drupal.org/project/uc_payflowlink, it was marked unsupported due to a security issue, for which there is a fix in the queue but that needs a response from the security team.

I've spent the last week upgrading a D6 ubercart store to D7. It's extremely disappointing, and a bit of a deal breaker, that this is still not available for D7.

It is available for commerce. I think that says a lot about which commerce solution is the future.

Is Ubercart close to death? It sure appears that way.

I purchased a plugin from module Bazaar(egrove systems) it works but it doesnt seem like its completed because it doesnt send all the data to paypal, I did play with this module and was able to send some data to paypal, I finally gave up because I do not have any knowledge on how to develop this module. This is what I asked the support team at egrove system. Do you know why the following variables are not sent to paypal--- pay pal advanced payment drupal 7 ubercart module(not completed). Please advise, but they didnt respond so I had them send me a refund. I still have the module but I dont have installed.

shipping amount
handling amount
product description
product quantity
tax amount

Stealth: I'm also considering the Module Bazaar module, but I find their pre-sale support to be somewhat lacking.

I asked them a couple times about the step they show at 58 seconds in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7y9KabqTeMM

To me, this seems very confusing -- forcing the customer to choose a "Paypal Advanced" checkbox to proceed. I assume I can hack the module to change this, but I have not been able to get them to confirm this.

I also asked about your concerns and pointed them to this thread, but they didn't respond to that either.

I've never had to purchase a 3rd party module for any of my drupal sites, and they have been unable or unwilling to alleviate any of my concerns, so I'm hesitant to start now.
