Thanks for the great theme ... it screams. So far I have only noticed two things a bit odd.

1) Saving - it doesn't laways tell you the node or setting has been saved, but then if you save again - it tells you twice. Not really an issue - 'refresh' or 'reload' works

2) changing or saving of blocks. Sometimes it will grab the wrong block. I thought it was me at first, but I have seen it often enough now to think different.

------------
I see in the style sheet --- you have gone into detail with the thumbnails and SEOpostion uses them on the node posts

? I've never done this before (sure I have loaded images to nodes) but I'm thinking you have a clean, fast and simpler way to post the users image on the node.

? Do you assign it to the user profile somehow?

? if you can find a minute - couild you share the info please?

best regards and thank you again for a screaming fast theme

tri-footer has proved to be very useful too :-)

Hi jwells,
Thanks for the compliments on this theme named after my "way cool" :-) 3 year old son - Alek!

1) Saving - it doesn't laways tell you the node or setting has been saved, but then if you save again - it tells you twice. Not really an issue - 'refresh' or 'reload' works

ANSWER: I'm using this theme on two sites currently on two different hosting companies. I haven't experienced this problem on either of the sites and I downloaded the theme ported here to Drupal (just like the one you downloaded). It sounds like a caching problem, not a theme problem since the theme is only front end design/layout and should not control the refresh message of the page you are adding or updating. We'd likely need to hear if anyone else has this problem so we can investigate it more if needed.

2) changing or saving of blocks. Sometimes it will grab the wrong block. I thought it was me at first, but I have seen it often enough now to think different.

ANSWER: If you've experienced this before, could you let me know if you ever fixed the problem on other sites you own? I've never experienced this before with Drupal but will let me developer know if it's a theme issue or not. Are the blocks you are referring to related to the bottom footer blocks on the Alek 2.0 theme or from the right two columns?

Hopefully answers to your questions about the user avatars...

I simple give users such as writers the ability to add their avatar to the site (52 x 52px), then at the bottom of the post that they are writing they include their avatar from the select dropdown menu near the bottom of the "create story" in the "authoring information" section.

You have to go to "/admin/build/themes/settings/alek_2_0" however and make sure that the "User pictures in posts" is selected though.

Let me know if you have any more trouble with it!!

Could you please post your use of the Alek 2_0 Drupal site? Perhaps I can give more input after seeing your theme.

Thanks
Brian Gilley

thank you for your reply

I think I have a better clue as to what is happening.

I think it is a Broswer thing.

I generally use Firefox, but since the last Fiefox upgrade, it seems to be running slower. So I have been using MS IE - which I haven't used in over a year. It now seems like it is cache related. Perhaps even my host. The select Block thing is really wierd. likes to grab the one above it, often enough.

I let you know more ....

I would be happy to post a link here. I just need to rework my menus a bit. (site 3 days old) This site is very heavy in voc/terms and I just can't seem to get a voc/term menu block I like. There are several modules that deal with this, but it seems they also produce menu items to non-pages. A simple non-extended toggle on the voc/terms would probably solve this. Might have to use Views here. (too much work to use Books on this one)

thanks again for a 'way cool' theme
