When using this field in views for some reason the system will still output the text (no results found) that i created to show when there is no video, to users that did upload a video for this field.

How is this possible?

try a filter under content and make it list = true. So you filter the view based on the field. This was some of the image handling in d6 views that worked yet didn't make sense to me. :)
