For whatever reason, some browsers try to access favicon.gif instead of favicon.ico. I'm assuming it would only be a small bit of code to include this one as well?

Also, do you know if the file has to be a gif that is returned? The default icon in Drupal is a ico file so if that got returned on the favicon.gif path, will the browser accept it?
