Entity reference to user's content only

Hi,

Example scenario is this:

A user has a "food" Menu, and his Menu contains his Menu items (entrees), (menu and menu item are separate conent types).

Am I in the correct module to be able to attain this?

When I reference the menu item from the menu content type field, a user sees everyones "Menu items", not just his.

Is this possible through Entity Reference alone?
