Publish Content appears to do exactly the same thing execpt that it presents a tab instead of a button.

Are there any other differences between the two modules?

As I see it, the only main difference in what it do, is tab and button, yes - but the code to do so differ, when choosing the 'button'-approach is also exportable with ctools.
